Thriving at Work – Four Part Series

This four part series dives into the science of Positive Psychology, the study of what makes us thrive.   The benefit of this four part series is that participants have the chance to apply what they learn each week, sharing experiences and insights at the next session.   The ongoing nature of the series motivates participants to implement ideas and as a result, the training has a lasting impact.   (Each component is two hours in length).

  • Part I – Introduction to Theories to Thrive
We begin this series in Part I with a slightly compressed version of the Thriving at Work Signature Session.  This includes research and proven strategies from Positive Psychology, the science of what makes us thrive.  You will learn the latest models and tools around happiness and flourishing, learn about the Positivity Ratio that will transform your life and your relationships and take an assessment to determine whether you’re in danger of being fueled by negativity or whether you’re on your way to becoming alive with possibility and thriving.
  • Part II – Positive Relationships and Using Your Strengths
Relationships with others is a key component to help you thrive.  In Part II of this dynamic workshop, you’ll learn about the “Magic Relationship Ratio” that can transform your relationships into positive, productive, energizing connections.   You will also learn about the importance of discovering and using your strengths at work and in life.  Strengths are a pathway to becoming fully involved in and enthusiastic about your work, as well as a pathway to find meaning in the work you do.   Research shows we are our happiest, most creative, most resilient and most productive for our family, community and company when we play to our strengths.
  • Part III – Positive and Negative Thinking Styles and Emotional Intelligence
Did you know that your thinking style, whether positive or negative, is learned behavior?  Optimism and pessimism are simply habits of thought – habits that can be changed.   Part III of this series begins with an assessment of your thinking style and how that impacts your view of the world. You’ll learn how your thinking impacts your feelings and how to better understand and manage your emotions; the goal of emotional intelligence.  You will walk away with specific tools on how you can better manage yourself and others during emotionally charged situations so you can positively influence the outcome.
  • Part IV – Managing Energy not Time
You’re pushing yourself harder than ever to keep up.  You find yourself perpetually exhausted and overwhelmed.  You feel like you’re close to a breaking point.  Is this you?  If so, learn how to manage your energy – NOT your time.  Time is a finite resource while your energy is renewable.   This workshop shares the keys to high performance and personal renewal based on managing your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energy.  Learn how to renew energy sources as well as how to improve employee engagement and energy.  Find out why fatigue is so insidious in draining your energy and how taking breaks at specific intervals can increase your energy by 30%!  Walk away with ideas for more energy, improved morale and more engagement with work and with life for your staff, your leaders and yourself. Life is too short to simply survive – learn to thrive!  Based on the book, The Power of Full Engagement: Managing Energy not Time is the Key to High Performance and Personal Renewal by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz.
